Green Kids Garden Group
31 of the Green Kids Garden Group travelled to Trentham Memorial Park on Friday 3rd June 2011 on the Youthtown Bus to plant 410 trees for Arbor Day.
The tree planting was organised by Evan Gwerder of the Upper Hutt City Council and the trees came from the Forest and Bird Society.
We were very pleased to see that all the holes had been dug by Hayes Landscaping Contractors for us.
The Fraser Crescent School Green Kids were aged from 5 years to 10years and each child planted around 12 trees.
The Mayor of Upper Hutt Wayne Guppy came and spoke to the students and thanked them for their hard work and for helping to take care of the Upper Hutt City environment.
